Cookies and Storage

Last updated 26 October 2026.

This page tells you what Verdin keeps on your device and why. The law in the UK (PECR) and in the EU (the ePrivacy Directive) applies to cookies and also to all other storage in your browser, so we list both. We use none of them for advertising, and we do not track you across other sites. How we handle your personal data in general is in our Privacy Policy.

What we keep on your device

Strictly necessary

These items make a service work that you ask for: to sign in, to keep the work of a guest, or to remember a choice that you made. The law does not require your consent for them.

  • Sign-in cookie (cookie): Keeps a member signed in. Lifetime: 8 hours after your last activity. If you tick “Keep me signed in on this device”, the cookie stays for up to 30 days, but the sign-in in it ends after 3 days with no activity or 7 days in total. Set by: Verdin, through its sign-in provider.
  • Sign-in check cookie (cookie): Proves that you started a sign-in, an email confirmation or a password reset. Lifetime: the same as the sign-in cookie, but never less than 1 hour (the validity of an email link); removed when the sign-in completes. Set by: Verdin, through its sign-in provider.
  • “Keep me signed in” choice (cookie): Remembers that you ticked “Keep me signed in on this device”. Lifetime: 30 days; removed when you sign in with the box not ticked. Set by: Verdin.
  • Guest choice (cookie): Remembers that you chose “Try it out without an account”, so that the app does not send you back to the sign-in page. Lifetime: 14 days. Set by: Verdin.
  • The work of a guest (browser storage): Keeps the processes, drafts and snapshots of a guest on this device. They never go to our servers. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage, or until you delete the process. Set by: Verdin.
  • Copy and paste (browser storage): Lets you copy activities in one tab and paste them in another. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage; removed when you sign out. Set by: Verdin.
  • Undo history and the last AI run (tab storage): Keeps your undo history and the result of the last Build with AI run when you reload the page. Lifetime: until you close the tab. Set by: Verdin.
  • Invite link (browser storage): Keeps an invite link while you sign in to accept it. Lifetime: 1 day; removed when you accept the invite. Set by: Verdin.
  • One-time account set-up (browser storage): Records that the one-time copy of your guest work and settings to your account is done, so that it does not run again. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage. Set by: Verdin.
  • Your usage statistics choice (browser storage): Remembers whether you turned usage statistics on or off. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage. Set by: Verdin.

Preferences

These items remember how you like the app to look and behave on this device.

  • Display settings (browser storage): Your theme, your display settings, your choice of data on the reporting pages and how Build with AI uses the resources of a workspace. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage. Set by: Verdin.
  • What you have already seen (browser storage): Records that you saw the tour, the last announcement and the roadmap, so that we show only what is new. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage. Set by: Verdin.
  • Open panel sections (tab storage): Remembers which sections of the details panel are open. Lifetime: until you close the tab. Set by: Verdin.

Usage statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see how many people visit each page and how fast the pages load. The scripts set no cookie and keep nothing on your device. The analytics script can read one item in your browser storage, which Verdin never writes.

For each page view, your browser sends Vercel the time, the page address (we remove the ids of processes and invites first), the page that you came from, your browser, your operating system and the type of device. Vercel finds an approximate location from the request. It does not identify you with a cookie, and it discards the data that groups one visit after 24 hours. Speed Insights sends how long each page takes to load. Vercel processes this data for us under its data processing terms.

You can turn usage statistics off at any time, here or on the settings page. If you visit from the EU or the EEA, they stay off until you agree to them.

Third parties: Tally

Our feedback and waitlist forms are provided by Tally, a third party. The Tally form loads only when you open a form, and Tally receives your answers only if you submit it. The open form can keep its own items in your browser. The Tally cookie notice describes them.

How to control them

Your browser settings let you see and delete cookies and stored data. If you block the strictly necessary items, you cannot sign in. If you clear your browser storage as a guest, your processes on this device are deleted.
